| Ground design |
| | The UEC next generation research student program is selected as one of the "JST Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation". In this UEC program, we will build the education and support system of the doctor course student to form their own researcher's network, to raise their ability of production develop and to learn Asian language which can be useful in their future carrier. With these three activities and their own specialized scientific research, we want to support the selected student activities and carrier formation after the UEC course is finished.
In the following part, we will explain three pillars in this program.

(1) Short-term joint research proposal to the other research institute in west Tokyo area (Tama-chiku) |

Students selected for this project will be required to go to short-term joint research in different fields at the other research institutes in the Tama area. The research institutes are assumed to be National Institute of Polar Research, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, NICT, JAXA, NTT Basic Research Institute, etc. After investigating the research contents of those institutions by yourself, please propose what kind of joint research to start.

(2) Development of the recurrent education tools |
| | The selected students are requested to develop the recurrent education tools for researchers and engineers in industries or the other research institutes by using their own idea and original skills. We expected those items and tools will be useful for many scientists and technology people in Japanese society. Those are included the tools for learning some new trend of the scientific products and/or software for the researchers and engineers in society. Students may use own research skills and technologies related to their own specialized research to propose.

(3)Language education of east Asian language |
| | Present industrial situation, many industrial production centers and facilities are located in the east Asian countries. In addition, many excellent scientific laboratories are built inside this east Asian area. For communication in these countries, English is the first choice but, sometimes, if the students or researchers can speak the domestic language, the deep communication and relation will be constructed. Therefore, in UEC program, we endorse the selected students to learn the east Asian language by help of the Asian-native speakers in UEC.
